Presentation Title: Decision Making with Stakeholder Engagement

Presentation Overview:

This presentation is designed to strengthen project experts’ knowledge of how engagement frameworks—particularly the International Association of Public Participation’s (IAP2) Public Participation (P2) Spectrum—can improve the quality, transparency, and sustainability of project decisions. As a speaker, Leah offers real-world experience combining corporate-style management with community-centred values. She brings both practical know-how and a values-driven perspective on how engaging stakeholders throughout a project’s lifecycle can inform better decisions, reduce risk, and build long-term trust.

Presentation Learning Objective:

The Spectrum outlines five levels of engagement, from simply informing stakeholders to empowering them to make decisions. Each level—Inform, Consult, Involve, Collaborate, and Empower—represents a deliberate choice about how much influence participants will have and the expectations placed during the process
