Applied Project Management

Are you looking for effective project management skills so that you can complete projects on time and on budget? Saskatchewan Polytechnic is pleased to bring you the Applied Project Management program. This online program will provide you with practical and professional skills in all aspects of project management. Participants in this program often work as project managers, supervisors, or project coordinators and have project work experience that puts the learning into context - no matter what industry they work in.

PMISaskatchewan Polytechnic is a Registered Education Provider with the Project Management Institute (PMI®), the largest international professional association for project managers. This program provides the necessary training to apply for the PMP®or CAPM® credentials with PMI®.

We are also a Gold Seal Accredited Course Provider with the Canadian Construction Association, and the program is accredited for the maximum number of credits towards the Gold Seal Certification.

 

Applied Project Management Program:

This 6-course online program results in an Applied Certificate in Applied Project Management.  Many graduates go on to write the PMP exam and follow careers in project management.    We offer the 6-course sequence three times each academic year.  See details at www.saskpolytech.ca/projectmanagement .

In this interactive workshop, you will explore the fundamentals of communications, understand your personal communications style and develop valuable communication skills for the workplace. Learn skillful listening techniques that minimize communication barriers. Understand how your communication affects others and practice constructive feedback to diffuse difficult situations.

Leading Through Coaching:  LEAD-1606

Discover your leadership strengths and amplify your impact as a leader through coaching skills. In this hybrid course you will practice effective coaching techniques and communication, decision-making, team building and conflict resolution strategies. You will develop leadership development goals and put them into action, while learning Crane's model of Transformational Coaching. This course includes 15 hours of self-paced online learning, 2 full-day face-to-face sessions and a half-day video conference. Your investment includes a copy of The Heart of Coaching by Thomas Crane and the Clifton Strengths Assessment.

Change Management Fundamentals: MGMT-1617

This course introduces fundamentals of change management concepts and processes.  It provides sponsors and leaders with practical tools and approaches to their change leadership role, what support is available to them, and how they can support change management strategy and plan to successfully drive value and decrease time to proficiency.

Change Through Leadership: MGMT-1618

This course provides the fundamentals of key change management concepts and processes, evaluation types and when to use them, roles and responsibilities within a change program, how to build, tailor and roll out a change management strategy and plan to successfully drive value and decrease time to proficiency.

Time Management Essentials:  TMGT-1601

This interactive half-day workshop provides valuable tips and techniques on three time management basics: managing emails, prioritizing, and organizing your time and space. Find time for this workshop if you can’t find time for anything else.
